YouTube & Muslims Against Crusades – another match made in hell

A friend alerted me to a fantastic article that continues to connect the violent jihadi movement to YouTube.  (H/T Andrea.)  The article is very thorough, and details how the terrorists use YouTube to spread their cult of violence and what types of groups are using it.  This nugget, to me, was extremely interesting…

From MEMRI via Tolerant No More ~ Counter Jihad Knights:

November 2011: MAC Banned In U.K., MAC Website and Twitter Accounts Are Shut Down – But MAC YouTube Channels Continues

On November 9, 2011, the U.K. Home Office banned MAC; membership, holding meetings, or wearing clothing or “articles” to show support for the organization are now criminal offenses punishable by up to 10 years in jail. The official announcement of the ban, on the Home Office website, read: “Terror organisation proscribed: The Home Secretary Theresa May today laid an Order proscribing Muslims Against Crusades effective from midnight tonight. She said: ‘I have today laid an Order which will proscribe Muslims Against Crusades from midnight tonight. This means being a member of or supporting the organisation will be a criminal offence. I am satisfied Muslims Against Crusades is simply another name for an organisation already proscribed under a number of names including Al Ghurabaa, The Saved Sect, Al Muhajiroun and Islam4UK. The organisation was proscribed in 2006 for glorifying terrorism and we are clear it should not be able to continue these activities by simply changing its name. ”

Following this official announcement, the MAC’s website and Twitter account were shut down. However, the MAC YouTube page (youtube.com/user/MACrusaders) as well as the YouTube page of its leader Anjem Choudary (youtube.com/user/anjemchoudary) remain active.(emphasis mine)

Now how is it that Twitter can act so quickly to shut down the terrorists, but Google/YouTube just pussyfoots around the subject? Maybe Twitter needs to teach the folks over at Google/YouTube a thing or two.

I’m also curious as to where MAC’s website was hosted.  Surely not Blogger or it would most likely still be around as well.  According to the Jawa Report, it was hosted in Canada – we may all Stable Hand & the Jawa Report readers to thank for the fact that MAC’s site is no longer there rather than the U.K.’s Home Office.  But who’s keeping score?

Infiltrate this!

The morons over at  Shura al Mujahideen fee Junubu Afarika (South Africa) are all a-twitter over their “brother” Jose’s arrest on terrorism charges and the implications it might — and should — have for muslims “speaking the truth” on social networking forums.  Of course the well-documented transgressions committed by poor ol’ Jose are all false.   *insert ginormous eye roll here.*  Of COURSE they are always innocent!  LOL!

As a result they are looking to “infiltrate” and “keep an eye on” anyone who is countering their BS – specifically mentioning Internet Hagannah and Operation YouTube Smackdown.

When they gather information on the supporters of the mujahideen, be it about their youtube channels and friends, blogger profiles and blogs or their facebook accounts, they share it among themselves by posting it on their forum (forum.internet-haganah.com). If any brother or sister is to come across this, make sure that you inform those who are being spied on so they may delete their accounts and start up new ones or at least so they may be more cautious.

Oh nooooooes!  They are gonna watch us!  Run for the hills!  Hey boneheads – if we didn’t want you to see it, you wouldn’t know it was there — just sayin’!

Funny that they are all worried about the implications of the arrest.  Probably because they are guilty of promoting terrorism at their site as well.  And who do you think helps them out?  Yep!  You got it!  Google/YouTube.  Their blog is on Blogger — the free Google blogsite.

And their videos, linked and embedded at their Blogger site are hosted, of course, at YouTube.  Here’s a connect-the-dots series of screen caps so you can see for yourself.  Clicking this link on their sidebar:

Will take you here:

Not surprisingly, it’s a video hosted at none other that YouTube.

And yes – you can see on the statistics for the video that it was unloaded on 11/26/11 and embedded on 11/28/11.

You can also see the search topics by which people using YouTube found the video — which means that presumably YouTube/Google should be able to use their own search filters to find it as well.  And if they were truly serious about removing terrorist videos from YouTube, they would.  The hypocrisy is stunning! Google really needs to change their slogan.

Pimentel, “Jihad Princess”, Google and Joe Lieberman

So, we established yesterday that Jose Pimentel aka Muhammad Yusuf was a YouTube user — specifically mujahidfisabillilah1.  Today his website, http://www.trueislam1.com/, has been removed as has his YouTube account.

Possibly this is in response to Joe Lieberman’s demand for better ways to police Google’s Blogger platform, which is where Pimentel’s blog was hosted.  (Well THERE’S a surprise – NOT!)  Lieberman is asking for is a flagging system so that readers can bring terrorist websites that are hosted at Blogger to their attention.  Right now, if you see an offensive site, you can send an email to Google complaining of terms of service violations, etc.  It exists.  All Mr. Lieberman wants is to make that process a little easier.  Oh.  And he’d like Google to actually state explicitly that terrorist content is against their terms of service.

“Through your updated YouTube standards, Google has affirmatively stated that terrorist content will not be permitted on some of your sites. I strongly believe that Google should expand that standard to include your other platforms.”

Pimentel hooked up with “Jihad Princess” at YouTube.  He promoted her YouTube channel at his Blogger-hosted website.  He also posted video lectures — hosted for free at YouTube — from well known terrorists like Osama bin Laden, Aw-Alaki and others to his Blogger website.  He even credited YouTube user “Jihad Princess” with helping him figure out how to use the Blogger format.

He said most of the photos on his site came from her and that she told him how to use the Google site Blogger — where she describes herself as “an islamic jihad enthusiast.”

Her profile is accompanied by a photo of a woman peeking out from a hijab. On another site, she says she was born in Yemen but lives in the United States.

No doubt the FBI and Homeland Security are already checking her out. — which might be why she’s been deleting stuff left and right.  Sort of like closing the gate after the cows get out.

A lot of people seem to be jumping on Mr. Lieberman  accusing him of only caring about it because it gets him in the spotlight.  Maybe.  But that’s beside the point.  My question is this:  how many arrests, how many almost terrorist events, how many demonstrable terrorist “hook-ups” are going to have to happen before Google is liable as an accomplice?  If they don’t do everything in their power to prevent their services being used by the terrorists, then they ARE complicit.

Islamic World Forum brings radical GMB to the US; George Mason University attends

It’s been a while since anyone has blogged here.  Hirabist Hunter has been busy and I’m having computer issues which are currently being resolved.

This morning, Andrea from YouTube Smackdown Crew alerted me to a post at the Grendel Report regarding the Global Muslim Brotherhood.

The U.S.-Islamic World Forum, sponsored by the Brookings Institution, has reported that it’s 2011 event was held in the US for the first time and included a large number of individuals tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood as well as their supporters including the following persons….

The Global Muslim Brotherhood has been well documented by the Jawa Report and CBN as being a Global terrorist influence.

From CBN:

Before Osama bin Laden formed al Qaeda, he belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood.  So did his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri and the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

In addition, the terrorist group Hamas identifies itself as the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestinian branch.

Former FBI Special Agent John Guandolo told CBN News the United States must become more aware of the Brotherhood’s growing influence.

“Here in the United States, virtually every prominent Islamic organization is controlled and led by the Muslim Brotherhood,” said Gunadolo. “Why this is key, is because they see that they are going to destroy our Western civilization from within.”

The Brotherhood’s immediate goal, though, is an Islamic state in Egypt — and an end to that country’s peace treaty with Israel.

Looking through the article at the Grendel Report, I noticed the list of scholars who attended the Forum included “Peter Mandaville (George Mason University funded by International Institute of Islamic Thought).”  So the IIIT endowment of GMU’s Islamic Studies supports a guy who attends a forum that is populated and influenced by radical people who are tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood.  Interesting.

So in our quest to discover what influences helped to radicalize Zach Chesser and Proscovia Nzabanita, maybe GMU’s Islamic Studies department needs a closer examination.  It would be a good place to start.

And why are we allowing them on our soil?  And what is Hillary doing there?  Yes – send an underling.  But sending Hillary makes them think we approve.  But then maybe the current administration does approve.

Murder in Palestine

On Saturday, the news came that a cowardly terrorist broke into the home of Rabbi Vogel and family in the Itamar settlement on the West Banke in the middle of the night and murdered the Rabbi, his wife and three of their children.  One of the children was only three months old.  Horrific. Odd that the stories seem to omit that the deceased is a Rabbi, as in this ABC story:

Settler family killed in West Bank: Israel

Posted March 12, 2011 13:04:00

A Palestinian infiltrator killed five Israelis in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank early on Saturday, an Israeli military spokeswoman said.

Israeli media said the attacker broke into a house in the settlement of Itamar overnight and stabbed to death a couple and three children, including a baby, from the same family.

“Five civilians were killed in this terrorist attack,” the spokeswoman said.

She said troops were searching for the attacker in the area around Itamar, which is near the Palestinian city of Nablus.

She gave no further details.

Reuters

The stories also tend to stress that this is “unusual” in a period of “relative quiet,” or as the Atlanta Journal and Constipation called it, “a lengthy lull.”  The AJC mentioned that

Israel has long contended that Palestinian textbooks and official media are full of hatred toward the Jewish state, and that killers of Israelis are often glorified

but stopped short of telling the rest of the story

The brutal attack comes only days after a West Bank Palestinian youth center announced a soccer tournament named after Wafa Idris, the first female Palestinian suicide bomber, who killed an 81-year-old man and injured over 100 other Israelis.

The glorification of this suicide bomber, though, was virtually ignored by Western media outlets, many of whom did find time to report, in great detail, on the first home game by the Palestinian national soccer team.

The latter event makes for an interesting human interest story. The former helps explain why peace has been so elusive in the Middle East. It’s likely that the terrorist who wiped out the family knew of the soccer tournament named after Wafa Idris. And if not he — or she — certainly knew that scores of other suicide bombers have been lauded as heroes by the Palestinian government and media. The killer undoubtedly internalized the message, reinforced time and time again, that it’s noble and heroic to kill Jews. The same goes for the person who planned the attack, and the one who transported the killer, and any other enablers.

The media is also, by choice of headline, intimating that the Israeli government is building 400 (or 500) new homes for Jews in the area as a response to the attack.

From Reuters:  Israel to Build Settler Homes After Palestinian Attack

Israel said on Sunday it would build several hundred homes for settlers in the occupied West Bank, a day after a Palestinian attack killed an Israeli couple and three of their children in a settlement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special session of a ministerial committee on settlement to approve the step after pledging publicly the stabbings on Saturday would not deter Israel from building more homes for Jews in the West Bank.

From the Ottowa Citizen: Israel to build settler homes after deadly attack

The AJC‘s story starts with:

Israel responded defiantly Sunday to a bloody Palestinian assault against West Bank settlers by approving construction of new settlement housing, retaliating for the stabbing deaths of a father, mother and three small children with a measure that infuriated Palestinians and, together with the attack, threw already shaky peace efforts into a new tailspin.

The announcement came after the killings, true.  But no doubt the plans were in place before the terrorist went nuts.

Rabbi Avichai Ronski, spokesman for the settlement which, is home to 800 Jews, was defiant after the attack.

“Our response to this crime is not to seek revenge but to carry on with construction” of more Jewish homes.

Whatever the imagined reasons, the truth of the matter is that a whackjob Islamic terrorist broke into the home of a Jewish Rabbi and murdered him, his wife, and three of his children including a 3 month old baby and a toddler.  There are no amount of constructions projects that legitimize murder.  None.  And to play with semantics here in the west and offer up excuses will serve only to lend tacit approval to what happened.

May God rest their souls.

Zackie Boy gets 25 years

From The Washington Post:  (Emphasis mine)

A federal judge on Thursday sentenced a 21-year-old Northern Virginia man to 25 years in prison for trying to join an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group in Somalia and making threats to the creators of TV’s “South Park” show over their depiction of the prophet Muhammad.

Zachary Adam Chesser of Oakton pleaded guilty in October to charges of providing material support to terrorists, communicating threats and soliciting crimes of violence in his case, which is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The government had asked for the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. As part of his plea, Chesser agreed to request no less than 20 years.

During an hourlong hearing, Chesser – who wore a beard and a green prison jumpsuit – told Alexandria U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady he was remorseful. “Your honor, I accept full responsibility,” he said.

But O’Grady called Chesser an “extraordinarily energized traitor to your country.” (Darn straight.)

The defense had asked for some leniency in sentencing, suggesting that Chesser was a teenager when he committed his offenses. O’Grady, however, told Chesser “it’s amazing how quickly you became a danger. If anyone had been harmed, we’d be talking about a life sentence.”  (He should count his blessing that he wasn’t convicted of treason.)

The sentencing bookends the tale of a suburban Washington man friends described as “freakishly intelligent” and who became known to the FBI as a prolific Internet propagandist for al-Qaeda.

He was arrested in July, days after he and his wife drove with their infant son to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. He was stopped there after he tried to board a flight to Uganda before heading to Somalia, where he planned to join al-Shabaab, an Islamic terrorist group trying to oust Somalia’s government.

Chesser also admitted to making threats from April to July over the Internet to “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, saying they would “wind up like Theo Van Gogh.” The reference was to a Dutch filmmaker gunned down in 2004 after he attacked the treatment of women in Islamic society.

Chesser said his targets included a Florida man known as “JG,” a teenager in Mississippi and a young man from Texas who participated in an “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” group on Facebook.

Chesser also confessed to posting a link to 200 books on jihad and warfare, and to encouraging “fake operations” – such as placing bags that appear to be suspicious packages in public places – to desensitize federal agents to actual attacks.

How Chesser changed is something he and his family still seem to be grappling with, according to court filings. His father, stepmother and Chesser wrote letters to the judge in an attempt to influence his sentencing and explain his change in behavior.

As a kid, Chesser drifted from “one obsession to another,” according to court papers. At one time he was a vocal antiwar pacifist who grew his hair long and listened to heavy metal music. His interests varied, as he later studied Japanese and Buddhism. He joined a largely ethnic Korean breakdancing team.

In a Feb. 11 letter to the court, Chesser’s father, David, an economist and contractor for the U.S. Transportation Department, described him as an “intellectual, athletic and artistic” person who was “impulsive, impractical, naive and obstinately single-minded.” (Ok, it sounds to me like he was making a case against his son, not for him.  People with no self control who are out of touch with reality are not the type of people we can trust.)

At Oakton High School in Fairfax County, Chesser joined the freshman basketball and football teams and was involved in crew. In his spare time, his stepmother said he liked to play Xbox games and watch TV, including “South Park.”

In 2008, Chesser became a Muslim and, as a student at George Mason University, isolated himself from anyone who wasn’t Muslim at the college. He spent hours each day studying Islam, according to court papers. Chesser grew a beard, donned a traditional robe and later married the daughter of a Ugandan diplomat who had been raised as a Roman Catholic but converted to Islam three days after he met her through a local mosque. In November 2009, the couple had a son.  (Well that answers some of my questions.  I really feel for her parents.)

From his small apartment in Northern Virginia, Chesser – who became known online as “Abu Talhah” – spent hours on the computer, posting on radical Islamic Web sites, forums and blogs. He wrote about “Destroying the West” with a list of ideas that included filling tanker trucks with Ricin.

His blog, titled “themujahidblog.com,” was “dedicated to those who give their blood for [Islam] and “primarily devoted to spreading knowledge regarding Jihad and the Mujahideen,” according to court documents.

In a Dec. 10 letter to the court in which he takes responsibility for the allegations, Chesser describes himself as someone who felt like he had to “do everything to the fullest extent, whether it was how I dressed, who I spoke to, or how I prayed.” He goes on to say that after “about three months of being a practicing Muslim,” he was given a copy of lectures by the U.S.-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Aulaqi.  (So that excuses him, how exactly?)

The cleric has been linked to last year’s massacre at Fort Hood and an attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound plane on Christmas Day. Chesser said in his letter to the court that the “element of radicalism” in the papers “served as a gateway for me to other more extreme beliefs.” According to the FBI, Chesser exchanged e-mails with Aulaqi.

But Chesser said he’s since had a change of heart. In the Dec. 10 letter, he wrote that the jihad ideology he was drawn into “was contrary to everything I had grown up thinking and believing.” He noted that he was for a while, “both a practicing Muslim and a vegetarian.”  (Convenient to have a change of heard AFTER he was busted.  Just sayin’.)

He reconciled his beliefs, he wrote, “by convincing myself that if I went to fight jihad, I would be saving more lives even if it meant that others died. I understand now how preposterous that sounds, and I completely reject the idea that killing can be justified in the name of Islam or any religion.”

He said he was “ashamed and bewildered” by the allegations and described his 18 months of following a radical version of Islam as “a missing puzzle piece in my life.”

“I know that I will spend many years trying to understand why I followed the path that has led me here,” he wrote. “I only hope that through my actions now and in the future I can make up for what I have done.”

Seriously, I hope his change of heart is sincere.  Only time will answer that question.

Jawas hacked

Oh there will be hell to pay for this!

What’s there now:

Definitely a hack – they’ll be back as soon as they can get it restored.

And the funny thing is, when someone hacks they leave a ton of info about themselves lying around.  I’m sure Rusty is NOT amused.  I’d be watching my 6 if I were them.  Rusty’s got a lot of friends in a lot of surprising places.

Props to Joe Dan Media for the screenshot of the original hack.

Jihad Jane rumors true – she pled guilty

Reuters

A Pennsylvania woman known as “Jihad Jane” pleaded guilty on Tuesday to plotting to kill a Swedish cartoonist, providing material support to terrorists, and other criminal charges, the U.S. Justice Department said.

Colleen LaRose, at a federal hearing in Philadelphia, admitted her role in a plot with others to kill the cartoonist, who had depicted the Prophet Mohammed in a way that is offensive to Muslims.

LaRose, 47, who has been in U.S. custody for more than a year, could be sent to prison for life when she is sentenced March 3.

Justice Department prosecutors said LaRose, who is from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, used online pseudonyms such as “Jihad Jane,” “Fatima LaRose,” “ExtremeSister4Life” and “SisterOFTerror.”

They said she used multiple e-mail and YouTube accounts, other websites and various online usernames to publish violent jihadist literature and videos, to raise funds for militants and recruit others.

If the case had gone to trial, prosecutors said they would have proven that in 2008 and 2009 LaRose worked “obsessively on her computer to communicate with, recruit and incite other jihadists.”

Yes, she did.  And the bloggers of YouTube Smackdown and the Jawa Report documented her every move.  Colleen was so bold and American – she thought she was above the law and that no one would ever catch her anyway.  Just like any other 2-bit criminal.  And now we will treat her like one.

Sentencing is March 3.  We’ll be watching.
